Smart Savings in SAP S/4HANA: License Analysis for Cost Optimization (Practical Insights from Swissgrid AG)
In this session, Xiting presents a successful reference project with Swissgrid AG, following their migration from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA. The project addressed key challenges around Segregation of Duties (SOD) conflicts and license cost optimization under SAP’s new licensing model. Using the Xiting Authorizations Management Suite (XAMS), we conducted a comprehensive role clean-up, analyzed existing roles, identified potential savings, and resolved SOD conflicts. By leveraging productive test simulations and the SAP licensing framework, we enabled risk-free optimization that reduced license costs while meeting IT audit requirements. A Protected Go-Live (PGL) ensured a seamless and secure system transition.
