User administration in SAP is a central part of every ABAP or S\/4HANA system. With transaction SU01, administrators have a powerful tool to create, edit, or lock user accounts, as well as maintain roles, profiles, and master data.

You can start transaction SU01 directly from the command field with \/nSU01. From here, administrators can:<\/p>

    • Select the user type (Dialog, System, Service, Communication, Reference)<\/li>
    • Assign user groups for easier authorization checks<\/li>
    • Define validity periods (e.g., for external staff or project staff)<\/li><\/ul>

      SNC and Defaults<\/strong><\/p>

      • In the SNC tab (Secure Network Communication), an SNC name can be maintained for Single Sign-On (SSO)<\/li>
      • The Defaults tab allows you to set standard values like language, date format, or time zone.<\/li>
      • In the Parameters tab, you can define default values for parameter IDs<\/span><\/span>, such as a company code.<\/li><\/ul>

        Roles and Profiles<\/strong><\/p>

        • The Roles tab is where you assign roles that control authorizations.<\/li>
